Rotary Club of Pune Metro (RCPM) executed a project to construct toilet block in the School at Vinzar. The Project was funded partly by global grant from international Rotary Club and partly by contributions from RCPM members. The handing over of toilet block was organised in a simple function on 5th September 2015. On the occasion of teachers day, a workshop on communication skills, presentation techniques and understanding psychology of students was organised jointly with Rotary club of Pune Kothrud on 4th September. About 27 teachers attended the workshop. Teachers were immensely benefitted by this workshop. On 5th September a memory technique workshop was successfully undertaken by our member and convener of the project Rtn. Kedar Deshmukh. Students response was very encouraging and enthusiastic. Around 100 students attended the workshop. Main function started at around 11:00 am. RCPM members and other dignitaries received warm welcome by School Principal, Shri Mohite. All the attendees were formally welcomed by school girls by amidst the melodious beats of dhol/ tasha. The formal handing over of the toilet block was organised at the hands of Chief Guest Rtn. Makrand Tilloo. After that the function of ‘Teachers Day Celebration’ started. Girls from the school sang a welcome song. Principal Mohite welcomed guests and felicitated the dignitaries. Rtn. Kiran Kumbhar, RCPM President, highlighted various activities of the Rotary in general and RCPM Club in particular and emphasized contributions from international donors, Rotary friends and RCPM members in the construction of Toilet Block. On the occasion of teachers day six teachers from school were felicitated by Chief Guest as token of appreciation towards teachers. Former principal of the school, Teke Sir, thanked RCPM for their contribution by creating this much needed facility for the students. He also elucidated efforts taken by founding fathers of Vivekanand Education Society, Kolhapur, in imparting education through school activities and successful running of the school. Thereafter, the Chief Guest, Mr. Makarand Tilloo, delivered an entertaining speech. Being a great orator, comedian and involved in Laughter Club activites, he regaled the entire audience with interesting stories and interactive dialogue. He insisted on having a friendly chat with the students rather than a making a speech. He delivered important messages for young and old in a humorous but emphatic manner, like ‘ live to laugh and laugh to live’ , share your laughter with everyone, be a giver and not the needy, train you brain, you retain more when you are happy and smiling, etc. After the address by Chief Guest, RCPM presented mementoes to all guests on the dais. There was a short thanksgiving speech followed by "Vande Matarm" to end the function. Rtn. Makarand Tillu, AAG Godbole, Rtn Kiran, Ann Shweta, Rtn. Varsha, Rtn. Achyut, Ann Arati, Rtn. Kedar, Rtn. Jayant , Ann Jyoti, Rtn Madhavi Chauhan, Rtn Nayana, Anna Rahul, Rtn Shirish, Ann Ujwala, Anna Ravi from RCPM attended the function.
