Below is a little information on DEI… Diversity is a term that refers to the variety of different perspectives. The term represents a broad range of experiences, including gender, sex, socioeconomic background, upbringing, religion, education, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, neuro-diversity, and life experience. Equity is the process of ensuring that practices and programs are impartial, fair and provide equal possible outcomes for every individual. Recognize that members in the community might have different circumstances hence ensuring that everyone has the necessary access to resources, opportunities, networks and support to reach an equal outcome. Inclusion is seen as a universal human right. The aim of inclusion is to embrace all people irrespective of race, gender, disability, medical or other need. It is about giving equal access and opportunities to getting rid of discrimination and intolerance (removal of barriers). People hold visible and invisible qualities that inherently make them unique. Now that you know what DEI elements stand for, all you need to do is pick any one element of your choice and make a 3 min video on it, which demonstrates the true nature of the element (Diversity- Equity- Inclusion).
