'By eliminating rabies in dogs, we can prevent nearly all human rabies deaths globally, saving over 59,000 lives each year. Rabies is a 99% fatal disease but 100% preventable through vaccination. Eliminating rabies requires sustained vaccination over multiple years and sterilizing the stray dog population. Our Rotaract club of Patalganga under guidance of parent club RC Patalganga caaried out vaccination of stray dogs along with tying of reflective belt around neck. Vaccination in stray dogs is an essential public health measure. It not only protects the health of dogs but also reduces the risk of transmission of infectious diseases to humans and other animals. Nonetheless, controlling the population of our furry friends on the street has become most important. Also Pet collars are one of the important tools for protecting pet safety. A reflective collar help to make them more visible to drivers and pedestrians, reducing the risk of accidents and increasing the chances of being found if they do stray. Reflective dog collars are particularly important for street dogs, who often roam freely and are at a higher risk of accidents. We vaccinated more than 100 dogs with the help of Veterinary Doctor and their team and tied 100 reflective collar belts. We will be again vaccinating them after 12 months. We hope our this initiative towards our furry friends will help them from diseases and also residents of Raigad Dist.
