Rotary 3131 - Project Details

07-10-2023 - 07-10-2023

Located at the Azam Campus, this Interact Club has completed Thirty years today. An extremely mature club it imbibes all the values that Rotary expects from the Interact Clubs. We were welcomed by the Principal – Mr. Raj Mujhawar, Vice Principal – Mrs Parveen Mujhawar Shaikh, the Supervisor – Mrs Farzana Shaikh, Interact Teachers – Mrs Neelima Sathe, Mrs Amreen Almel and Mrs Sana Shaikh. The Outgoing President, Zara Saifi, in her crisp report highlighted the activities of the year gone by and then proceeded to Install Alfiya Majid Khan, the Incoming President, and handed over the baton of leadership. Alfiya in turn introduced her Board of Directors and ‘pinned’ them and performed their Swearing-in ceremony. She then unfolded her plans for the year ahead which included the study of Maldives as their International project. Rtn Sanjay Karwa, Co-Director, District Youth Service then addressed the gathering and expressed his admiration on the professionally conducted Installation Ceremony. He said that he had attended several installations, but was most impressed by the way this was done. He informed the Interactors about the forthcoming District activities, and also projects that they could participate in. Rtn Nandita Khaire, Director Youth Service, while addressing the students said that seeing them she wished she could be back in school. She exhorted them to follow their dreams passionately, and there were a lot of careers and specializations to choose from. After congratulating the Principal and the teachers responsible for the Interact Club successfully completing 30 years, I reminded the students that there was another career option available in the form of the Armed Forces, and asked if any of them would like to take it u as a career. It was a pleasant surprise to see that the first hand that shot up was that of a young girl sitting in the first row. Other hands did rise later though. The Interactors and their teachers were informed about the forthcoming Interact Jamboree in December, and asked to prepare for it. I ended with explaining the Rotary Motto for the year, and asked them to promise me that in all their projects they will ‘Create Hope in the World’.
