The Rotary Club of Panvel Elite organized an impactful awareness talk on anemia for the children of RZP School, Gulsunde. The event aimed to educate students about the causes, symptoms, and prevention methods of anemia. Alongside the awareness session, an HB check-up camp was conducted to identify anemic patients among the students. Anemia, a condition marked by a deficiency of red blood cells or hemoglobin, can lead to fatigue, weakness, and other health issues. The talk covered the primary causes of anemia, such as poor diet, iron deficiency, and chronic diseases. Symptoms like persistent tiredness, pale skin, and shortness of breath were highlighted to help students recognize the condition early. Preventative measures, including a balanced diet rich in iron, regular medical check-ups, and proper hygiene practices, were emphasized. The HB check-up camp revealed promising results. Out of 50 students screened, only 12 were found to be anemic. This low prevalence of anemia among the students is a testament to the effectiveness of the regular awareness talks conducted by our club over the past two years. These educational initiatives have significantly contributed to the students' understanding and management of their health, ensuring they are better equipped to prevent anemia. The event concluded with the distribution of informative pamphlets and iron-rich snacks to reinforce the day's teachings. The Rotary Club of Panvel Elite remains committed to promoting health and well-being among the youth through continuous educational efforts and health camps.
