The Rotary Club of Pen and Rotaract Club of Pen Heritage have collaboratively made a significant contribution to the Interact Club by donating a computer. This initiative aims to enhance technological literacy among the members of the Interact Club, particularly focusing on special children, by introducing them to basic computer skills. The primary objective of this initiative is to bridge the digital divide for special children and empower them with essential computer skills, fostering their inclusion in the digital age. The event commenced with a formal donation ceremony where the Rotary Club of Pen and Rotaract Club of Pen Heritage handed over a new computer to the Interact Club. This was followed by speeches highlighting the importance of technology in education and the role of community service organizations in supporting such initiatives. Rotaractors conducted a series of interactive sessions where they introduced the special children to the donated computer. These sessions included basic operations such as turning on the computer, using the mouse and keyboard, and understanding the desktop interface. Children were given ample time for hands-on practice to reinforce their learning. Rotaractors provided one-on-one assistance to ensure each child could comfortably use the computer. Impact Enhanced Technological Literacy: The initiative has significantly contributed to improving the technological literacy of the special children involved. They now have a foundational understanding of computers, which is crucial for their future educational endeavors. Empowerment and Inclusion: By introducing these children to technology, the Rotary and Rotaract Clubs have empowered them to become more self-reliant and included in the digital world. Strengthened Community Ties: The event strengthened the collaboration between Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact Clubs, showcasing the power of community service in making a tangible difference. Future Plans Continued Support: The Rotary and Rotaract Clubs plan to provide ongoing support and additional training sessions to ensure the children continue to advance their computer skills. Expansion of Program: There are plans to expand this program to include more children and possibly other schools, aiming to reach a wider audience and create a larger impact.
