Polio continues to pose a significant health risk, particularly in regions with low immunization coverage. Despite global efforts, ensuring comprehensive vaccination remains a challenge. Raising public awareness and promoting the importance of immunization are crucial to eradicating this debilitating disease. Addressing this need, Sports City team embarked on a multi-faceted campaign to educate and engage the community on polio prevention. Project Overview: SEC's comprehensive awareness campaign included three major activities aimed at reaching a broad audience: 1. Large Polio Hoarding at Senapati Bapat Road: A striking hoarding was placed on the highly trafficked Senapati Bapat Road. This hoarding featured compelling visuals and clear messages about the importance of polio vaccination, urging parents and guardians to ensure their children are immunized. Its strategic location ensured maximum visibility and engagement from commuters and pedestrians. 2. Bike Rally Around Aundh and Baner: A vibrant bike rally was organized in the Aundh and Baner areas. Young Bikers carried banners promoting polio awareness, drawing attention and spreading the message through the bustling streets. This dynamic event attracted significant public interest and media coverage, further amplifying the campaign's reach and impact. 3. Polio Drop Camp at Westend Mall on Polio Day: On Polio Day, a dedicated polio drop camp was set up at Westend Mall. The camp provided on-the-spot vaccinations, making it convenient for parents to immunize their children. Informational booths educated visitors on polio prevention, reinforcing the importance of vaccination and addressing any concerns. Impact on Beneficiaries: The campaign effectively heightened awareness and drove action across the community. The Senapati Bapat Road hoarding reached > 100,000 passerby daily, embedding the message of polio prevention in the public consciousness. The bike rally created a buzz, engaging diverse community members and emphasizing the urgency of vaccination. The polio drop camp at Westend Mall successfully vaccinated hundreds of children, offering a practical solution while educating parents. Sports City’s integrated approach not only boosted vaccination rates but also fostered a deeper understanding of polio prevention. By leveraging multiple platforms, the campaign demonstrated how strategic public engagement can significantly contribute to eradicating polio.
