The Human Milk Bank was implemented in São José do Rio Preto - SP, through Equivalent Subsidy - MG # 53105 (15.12. 2003) and expanded by GG1524491 through the donation of a Mobile Unit to BLH, under the coordination of the Municipality of São José do Rio Preto, through its Municipal Secretary of Health, in partnership with the Rotary Club Sjrp Novo Cinquentenário and Unimed de Rio Preto. The new BLH headquarters, in the final phase of construction, will have an area of ??333.10 m², built next to the Specialized Women's Health Care Center (CAESM); the location is strategic and opportune, as that being alongside CAESM, which provides care to pregnant women, there is a strengthening of the link between future postpartum women to the Human Milk Bank. The new BLH Headquarters offers the advantage of comfort (Space large and adequate physical space), aiming to serve a greater number of residents and consequently increase the collection of breast milk, benefiting premature babies admitted to Neonatal ICUs, contributing to the reduction of child morbidity and mortality. Currently, the BLH cares for an average of 140 babies premature babies monthly. Due to the expansion of the BLM there will be a need for investment in equipment, so that we can successfully achieve the proposed objective. The construction of the new headquarters will take place with its own resources from the City Hall, through its Municipal Health Secretary.
