Event Report: Ganesh Festival Celebration with RYE Inbounds Date: 8th September Venue : Bhau Rangari Mitra Mandal, Pune Organized by: Rotary Club of Pune Lokmanyanagar & Diamond Club Pune Public Image Support: Mahesh Pawar (e-Diamond Club) Overview of the Event: On 8th September, Rotary Club of Pune Lokmanyanagar, in collaboration with e-Diamond Club Pune, organized a special Ganesh morning Aarti, inviting RYE inbounds along with their parents. The event was a grand success with enthusiastic participation of 10 Inbounds their host parents and from the (RYE) team, including Jyoti, Rishikesh, and Co-Director Sharad Salunkhe. Key Highlights : 1. Visit to Shaniwarwada: The event commenced with a gathering at the historic Shaniwarwada, where we introduced the inbounds to one of Pune's significant landmarks. 2. Bhau Rangari Ganpati Mandal : The group visited the Bhau Rangari Mandal, home to Pune's 133-year-old Ganesh idol. We received a warm welcome, and each inbound student was presented with a Ganesh idol frame as a token of the occasion. Additionally, we were given a tour of the Bhau Rangari Wada, where the history of the Ganpati’s establishment and its significance was shared by a fifth-generation descendant of Bhau Rangari. 3. Cultural Experience: The inbounds gained a deep understanding of the importance of public Ganesh celebrations in Pune. The exchange students appreciated learning about the cultural and historical context of the festival. 4. Visit to Kasba Ganpati: Our next stop was the Kasba Ganpati, the first among Pune’s honored Ganpati mandals. The Rotaract team arranged a special darshan for us, and we were once again welcomed with an Aarti and honored by the temple committee. 5. Media Coverage: The event garnered excellent media attention, with News One and Police Nama channels covering the event. They conducted interviews and captured the inbounds' experiences, contributing to the successful execution of a Public Image activity for RYE. Conclusion: The event was an enriching experience for the inbound students, providing them with insight into Pune's traditions and the importance of the Ganesh festival. Special thanks to Mahesh Pawar from e-Diamond Club for his diligent handling of the public image responsibilities and to Director Sharad Salunkhe for his valuable contributions to the event.
