In a ground-breaking initiative, Rotary Club's "Green PC Project" has revolutionized education in rural areas, bridging the digital divide between urban and rural schools. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Rtn Pravin Nadkarni and his son Tanmai Nadkarni, over 100 Green PCs with solar setups were distributed to nine schools in Junnar, Munchar, and surrounding areas on September 4, 2024, at Shardashram Prathmik Ashramshala, Shirgaon. This innovative project has already benefited 5,500 students, providing them with access to low-powered Green PCs that use only 10 watts of electricity, compared to the 100-120 watts required by standard computers. These eco-friendly PCs can be operated using small solar setups, making them perfect for areas with inconsistent power supply. By empowering rural schools with green technology, this project aims to enhance basic computer skills and create a level playing field for children from rural areas, ensuring they don't lag behind their urban counterparts. This is a testament to the Rotary Club's commitment to education and sustainability.
