Vocational training program for farmers of Bramhanoli village for two days (7th and 8th Oct.) at Krushi Vidnyan Kendre Baramati. Our club nominated five farmers for this training program. There are 7 Rotary Districts of Maharashtra and Rotarians from various parts of state had organized training program for farmers at KVK- Krishi Vigyan Kendra ( Farmers Science Center), Baramati, Pune, Maharashtra on 7th and 8th October, 2024. Rtn. Manisha Kondaskar, Rtn. Rashmi Kulkarni, Rtn. Nilesh Dhahifule, Rtn. Dr. Sanjeev Jain and many were main convener of program. The focus of training was residue free and chemical free farming ways for sustainable farming and food production. With support of Rotary Club of Pune Sinhgad Road ( RCPSR) and motivation by President Rtn. Abhay Devare, farmers Shankar Kale, Navnath Kale, Rushikesh Kale from Rotary Community Corps (RCC) Brhmnoli and Santosh Vanjari, Shilpa Kashelkar from project implementation organization SVP had participated in this training program. The training program was inaugurated and guided by Smt. Dr. Neelam Gorhe, Deputy Chairperson of Maharashtra Legislative Council. Dr. Shailendra Singh, CEO of Zydex Company had introduced concept of residue free farming and future of cultivation for sustainable food. The team of Zydex have shared information on various company products towards chemical free farming. In the evening sessions, KVK team had organized field visit to all participants at campus itself, in which they had covered information on honey bee farming, poultry and goat rearing, vermicompost unit, millet processing centre etc. The second day, the team of KVK had conducted field visit to Polly house, vegetable and fruits cultivation and use of technology for growth of livelihood. KVK experts had also coordinated class room sessions on sustainable farming, livelihood, Government schemes and KVK programs for farmers, Self Help Groups, Farmer Producer Companies etc. In the valedictory session, Shri. Rajendra Pawar, Chairman of Agricultural Development Trust, Baramati had guided the participants on agricultural issues and KVK work for farmers. Apart from that other dignitaries from various Rotary Clubs shared their perspectives and had shown interest to coordinate training workshops at other parts of region. Farmer groups from various regions had shared their experiences and challenges in farming at various training sessions. Faculties had guided participants on how to handle climate change impacts and focus on residue free farming. The accommodation, food facilities were very decent and campus atmosphere was very motivational for learning. All participants had received participation certificate and shown interest to implement learnings at field level through new ways of residual free farming.
