Report on Zonal Meet of Zone 2 Event: Zonal Meet of Zone 2 Date: 13th September 2024 Location: Rotary Community Centre Host: Rotary Club of Nigdi-Pune Co-Host: Rotary Club of Chinchwad-Pune Director: Rtn. Mahavir Satyanna Rtn. Prasad Ganpule On 13th September 2024, the Environment team of Rotary District 3131 organized a Zonal Meet for Zone 2 at the Rotary Community Centre. The event aimed to facilitate discussions on environmental initiatives and projects among Rotary clubs in the zone. Rotary Club of Chinchwad-Pune proudly co-hosted the event alongside the main host, Rotary Club of Nigdi-Pune. Overview of the Meet: The meet began with a warm welcome from Rtn. Vasantrao Malunj, the Director of the Environment Committee, who shared his thoughts on the significance of environmental stewardship within Rotary’s mission. He emphasized the urgent need for collective action in addressing environmental challenges, such as pollution and climate change, and highlighted various ongoing initiatives within the district. Key Discussions: Following the opening remarks, several key topics were discussed, including: Current Environmental Projects: Clubs shared updates on their ongoing environmental initiatives, showcasing successful projects aimed at promoting sustainability and conservation. Future Collaborations: Ideas for collaboration among clubs in Zone 2 were explored, with an emphasis on joint projects that can amplify impact. Awareness Campaigns: Strategies for increasing awareness about environmental issues within local communities were discussed, encouraging all clubs to engage their members and the public.
