Report on Senior Day Celebration Event: Senior Day Celebration Date: 1st October 2024 Venue: DIC's English Medium School Speaker: Advocate Preeti Sathe Avenue: Peace Building and Conflict Resolution Beneficiaries: 150 grandparents On September 1, 2024, the Rotary Club of Chinchwad-Pune celebrated Senior Day at DIC's English Medium School, emphasising honouring and supporting the elderly in our community. The event brought together 150 grandparents for a cultural enrichment and education day. Overview of the Programme: The celebration commenced with a vibrant cultural programme performed by DIC's English Medium School students. Their performances, which included dances and songs, were a heartfelt tribute to the grandparents, showcasing the intergenerational bond and respect for the elderly. Following the cultural presentations, Advocate Preeti Sathe delivered an informative session on "Rights of the Elderly People." Her talk highlighted essential legal rights and protections available to senior citizens, empowering them with knowledge about their entitlements and encouraging them to advocate for themselves. Key Contributions: Introductory Remarks: President Rtn. Harsha Joshi opened the event with welcoming remarks, emphasising the significance of recognising the contributions of seniors in society and the Rotary Club's commitment to supporting their rights and well-being.
