Inauguration of Vastishala at Katkari Vastis of Village Kasurdi and Village Vadgaon Dale, Tal. Bhor, Dist. Pune. There are two Vasti Schools being run in those Vastis with the help of Adivasi Samaj Kriti Samiti and Hutatma Nagya Katkari Samaj Sanghatna. Each school has about 25 students between the age group of 3-6 years. The teachers are from the Katkari Samaj who have studied and passed either 10th standard or 12th standard. The basic aim of the Vasti Schools is to facilitate the children from Katkari Samaj to prepare themselves for the entrance to Ashramshalas. The Katkari Samaj is the most backward class amongst the backward class and therefore always face hatter at the hands of the other backward classes. The Rotary Club has provided them the support in the form of finance as well as in the form of supply of the books, other educational material as and when they demand for it and also the sweets for the children in the school.
