Metropolitans, namely P. Kiran, Shweta, P P Seema and Vivek, P P Avinash, P P Padma, Rahul, Nayana and Neelima Rane, Annet Mayank went to residence of industrialist Shri Subhash Chuttar & friend- philosopher and guide of Anna Vivek under the leadership of convener P P Jayant & Jyoti Bokil. Mr. & Mrs. Chuttar gave a warm welcome to the whole team & we had a round to his home. He has meticulously planned the construction of his home & has worked on minute details like use of marble, staircase border in one single metal piece, etc. All of us enjoyed delicious breakfast at his home. Then we proceeded to Chakan to visit his company- Associated Manufacturing Company. It manufactures auto parts mainly for car leading companies like Mercedes, TATA, Bajaj Group, Force Motors etc. The special feature of this company is 55 challenged and dumb and deaf employees out of total 300. These employees mainly work in Final Quality Control Section and do their work quietly and meticulously. Mr. Chuttar has bagged number of awards including presidential award at the hands of President Abdul Kalam, Global awards and Government awards etc. Another specialty the company is fine of Rs.100/- to 250/- for taking Gutkha, Pan, Cigarette in the campus of company. Various safety measures and delegation of powers at all levels is special feature of the company. There is no owner- worker relationship anywhere. All the staff is emotionally attached to partners and directors like family members. Few employees who had joined 30 years back as helpers, are supervisors & managers now. The company has been visited by many Social Organizations, Rotary Clubs, Gurus and Sadhus of various religions. P P Jayant expressed vote of thanks on behalf of all of us. He had almost tears in his eyes when bring these people in main stream of society, to make them financially self-sufficient and give them respectable life. He said that this visit was really eye-opener for all of us. Many thanks to Anna Vivek, P P Jayant and P Kiran for arranging such visit and making us aware of such need in the society. The main concern of Shri Chuttar is absence of such job opportunities and support by other industries and business units at government and private level. We Rotarians must follow him, try our best to spread awareness and create job opportunities in our own units and units of our friends and relatives. P P Padma
