13th Aug On Thursday, the 13th of August, 780 girl students from 8th 9th and 10th standard from Sankalp Satav School, Wagholi attended the female menstrual hygienThis project was started in 2010 by Rtn Dr Neha Kulkarni to create awareness about good personal hygiene during menstruation. We are getting good support from Johnson and Johnson Co health care division especially in our initial years. We conduct interactive sessions in schools with these girls, explaining them about normal physiology of menstruation, use of sanitary napkins and their proper disposal. This training surely makes them aware about avoidance of infections which come through unhygienic practices during menstruation, which can potentially end up even in infertility. This year these sessions were conducted at 4 schools, covering 1100 students. All these students were given a supply of sanitary napkins for one menstrual cycle. Way forward - We are in the process of installing an indigenous sanitary napkin manufacturing unit at one of our interact schools, which will give a cheaper supply of sanitary napkins and also will provide employment opportunities. e awareness programme . Interactive sessions were presented by Rtn Dr Neha Kulkarni and R'Ann Dr Sadhana Lachyan. They were supported by Medical Director Rtn Dr Saroj Bande and our guest from Rotary exchange Miss Veloisa from Brazil . We distributed sanitary napkins to the students and stated importance of taking good nutritive food intake The School principal praised the efforts of RCPC in helping the students of her School. The programme was a sucess 27th Aug 2015 This camp was held at Shankarrao Dhone Vidyalaya, Garade on the 27th of August 2015. Dr. Neha Kulkarni delivered a lecture on Cervix Cancer Awareness for 10th Class girl students and their parents. She advised them on steps for its prevention and the importance of the HPV vaccination. It was an interactive session and the students participated in full measure. 53 students attended the lecture.Dr. Sadhana Lachyan gave an informative lecture to 36 girls of Class 8. This was on maintenance of menstrual health and hygiene and the importance of a balanced diet. Sanitary Napkins were distributed to the students and teachers. The whole session went of well. 12th Dec 2015 Diwali vacations are over and we are back on our school health medical activities. We have started with a female hygiene programme at Anglo Urdu high school on 10th December. This session was ably conducted by RtAnn Dr Sadhana Lachyan who also happens to be the Chairperson for their interact club. 150 girls from Std 8 and 9 attended the programme. The content was nicely explained using some diagrams and our favourite Johnson and Johnson booklet. The atmosphere was kept lively by involving the girls in the conversation. The programme was over after distribution of on month sanitary napkin supply to the girls.
