Under Rotary’s RDEP (Rotary Distance Education Program) ,every year we provide the Educational software with a full back-up system to some schools. This year we have donated this software to two schools so far. On 23 February, 2016, there was the inauguration of this RDEP at Ashram School, Wagholi. Our club organised this RDEP at a concessional rate of Rs.20, 000 with the help of RC Poona North and Tata Technologies. The full package consists of a Projector, a CPU, an UPS, two speakers and a white screen along with the software with the explanation of full syllabus from class 1 to 10. The school had organised the program with a ribbon cutting and a few speeches by the teachers and students. From our club, President Supriya and Rtn. Pallavi gave some messages to the students. Boys and girls of std.IX were present at the lab during the function. The Computer teacher showed them some lessons from the software. The school is very happy with the RDEP and expressed their gratitude by thanking our club. It happened to be Rotary’s Birthday as RI completed 111years on 23 February, 2016. We distributed ‘pedas’ to the students and teachers. From our club, the members present were, Rtns.Aruna Rathi,Pallavi Sable,Pinky Mehmi,Sujata Malkani and President Supriya Banerjea.
