Every year, Rotary Club of Pune Pride (RCPP) in association with Pune District Mathematics Teachers' Association – PDMTA (Ganit Adhyapak Mandal) organizes “Rotary Mathematics Olympiad” Contest for school students in and around Pune. The objective of the contest is to create interest among secondary school students (Class 7th to 10th) for mathematics and, thereby, to motivate them to achieve excellence in the subject. A competitive platform is organized in form of written examination in first round. Around 1,000 bright students from over 150 schools from Pune district participate in this round every year. The brightest among these are selected for the second round of written examination having higher degree of difficulty level. Top four teams from the second round face the final round of an interesting, live Mathematics Quiz, anchored by the professional quiz-master & aided by projector & buzzer, in front of the live audience. The winners of these Quiz is awarded as First, Second, Third & Runners up prizes, in the form of Trophies & Cash Prizes with certificates. Each students taking examination is also awarded Certificate of Participation. PDMTA is responsible for design of the contest including question papers and quiz as well as evaluation of answer papers. RCPP provides logistical, financial as well as administrative support with their club members. This year, Rotary Mathematics Olympiad will be conducted on 20th November, Sunday.
