PROJECT: NAKSHATRAM AT FOOTHILLS OF SMRITIVAN,On ‘RAKSHA-BANDHAN’, August 5, 2009 Rotary Club of Pune Gandhi-Bhavan as an integral part of its commitment to serve the society, conserve the Environment and save the Planet Earth has conceived a novel and noble Project of offering to the people at large, an avenue – ‘NAKSHATRAM’ – by planting, nursing and growing some of the exotic species of trees attributed to each of the 27 Nakshatra’s, with the valuable guidance and assistance of ‘Gandhi Smarak Nidhi’ at Kothrud, Social Forestation Division, PMC’s Garden Department and the Club Members. Dr Kumar Saptarshi of ‘Gandhi Smarak Nidhi’ has been kind enough in allowing our Club to take the street up to the fencing separating the ‘Smritivan’ for the purpose. He has further showed his favours by promising the ‘gandool-khat’ as may be required for the purpose. Buy the sapling designated to Donor’s own ‘Nakshatra’ based on his/her own ‘Janma-Rashi’ or any of his/her choice, at a very nominal cost-price of Rs 25/- each . And donate generously any sum between Rs 201/- (min.) and Rs 501/- (max.) as a one-time donation paid as a token of this novel adoption, dedicated to its nurturing. Of course, the Donor is free to accentuate this process by doing much more with the consultation with Ann Rekha, like designing the surround of the tree with may be a street seat out of stone or wood or may be a little stone lamp– PP Rtn.
