We pray to God and seek blessings for a healthy and wealthy life. Some of us also perform the rituals in the temples and offer the deity flowers, prasad and "shreefal" . But how many of us have thought of what happens to the "nirmalya". IS a" is there any system for its effective disposal? A clean surrounding generates positive energy but it is little that we do towards ensuring a clean environment and surroundings especially when it is concerned with public property. Rather than leaving it to God to take care of disposal of Nirmalya , Rotary Club of Pune Gandhi Bhavan and Rotary Club of Pune Parvati came together and decided to implement an effective system of disposing off the Nirmalya by converting it into manure. This is done in specially designed drums in which the NIRMALYA will be collected every day and will be mixed with a vermi compose. within 3 months this process will convert NIRMALYA into a fertilizer (KHAT)which can be used in one’s own garden; and the temple can make it available to the same devotees and solve their everyday difficulty of ‘NIRMALYA disposal’. As a pilot activity, this project is started in 4 temples in Pune viz Sarsbaug, Parvati, Dashabhuja, and Mrutyunjay Temple, kothrud. DGN Dr deepak Shikarpur, PP Rtn Sumedha Bhosale , and chief trustee of the sarasbaug devasthan trust were present at the inauguration which was held in the serene surroundings of the "Talyatla Ganapati" Mandir or Sarasbaug Mandir . A demonstration of the project was given to the staff from all the four temples. The Rotary clubs will monitor this activity once a month to ensure a proper implementation of the project.
