The Rotary Club of New Panvel was chartered 34 years ago. The members were quick to rise to the need of the community. They soon realised the acute need of a Blood Bank in Panvel and thus was born one of the most ambitious projects that a new club could undertake. All the members pooled in their resources to acquire land from CIDCO to construct a Blood Bank. This was dedicated to public use in 1997 and has been serving the community for the last 24 years.
Adding to this, in 2013, under the guidance of DG 22/23 Dr. Anil Parmar, the club members conceptualised a medical facility named Late Chandrakuwar Kothari Mega Medical Centre. Today the Centre has a modern state of the art Blood Bank, Dialysis Centre, Day Care Centre and a Meeting Hall with a seating capacity for 200 people.
The construction cost was approximately 6 crores with 3 Term Gifts. It is situated in a prime location on the Mumbai Pune Highway and is one of the largest permanent projects of RI District 3131. It serves as the best example of what determination and proper focus can achieve. Needless to say each member of RC New Panvel is extremely proud of this great achievement. Through service to community, they are truly Serving to Change Lives.
