PROGRAM WAS ARRANGED UNDER CHILD MORTALITY PROJECT as well as COMMUNITY AVENUE OF ROTARY DISTRICT. The objective of this project was set by our Director Rtn. Dr. Vibha Zutsi and PP Rtn Raman Khinwasara to help common citizens from PCMC area who can not afford to reach in emergencies to nearest pediatric hospital, Committee Proposed that club should donate Ambulance under Prevention of child mortality project which will meet following objectives. 1.It will be great help to every citizen of PCMC area. 2.It will be available at very reasonable cost. 3.Even it is helpful to in saving 10 children or newborn babies per year by timely transportation to Doctor its value is recovered, 4.It will have good Public Relation value to Rotary. 5.It will have a shelf life of at least 10 years. Rtn Dr Vibha being a well known gynecologist surgeon from PCMC area did the initial survey, and came to conclusion that Unique Specialty Hospital, Chinchwad is best suited to be beneficiary as this hospital is run by 12 very well known pediatric doctors without taking any fees for themselves and they are offering services at lowest charge to needy. Also Dr.Burute from Unique Hospital felt that if club donates ambulance to carry new born babies with life threatening complications, this ambulance can be used to save them by reaching them in time to Unique Hospital. Following equipments are fitted in this ambulance for emergency treatments. 1. Incubator to maintain temperature, 2. Oxygen supply systems. 3. Heart monitoring systems. 4. Pulse Oxymeter. 5. Inverters to maintain electric supply. Total cost of project is Rs 3.5 lac, Club contributed Rs 2.5 lac.from its own fund. Club has done MOU with Unique Hospital, main conditions being that it will be used at subsidized rate for needy & it will be maintained in good working condition.
